Duck Skull

I drew this for a flyer. For a while I tried to make this my signature. Ah, the things we do for love.

The Merlon

March 4, 2010

My friend Sean Murray has a cat. My wife and I LOVE this cat. His name is Merlin.

This is a picture of my wife, the Merlin in question and myself.

Merlin will, from time to time, vomit. He seems to love doing this. My wife drew a picture of Merlin as a medieval monster, a creature known as The Merlon. The Merlon is a sinister gigantic cat that has a nasty habit of vomiting upon its prey. Strangely, The Merlon can only do this while facing south. Medieval monsters are weird, aren’t they?

For Christmas of 2009 we thought we’d do some research into The Merlon, and by research we meant that we’d make up a bunch more stuff about this majestic cat-beast!

Here’s my beautiful pen and ink recreation of a medieval drawing of the Merlon. Truly, this fearsome beast must have virtually snarled off the pages of some ancient manuscript that my wife and I made up.

Nib pens are fun. I should draw with them more often.

Morrisey Tattoo

July 21, 2009

Thought this swell tattoo design of “The Smiths” lead singer Steven Patrick Morrisey would look darling on the arm of any roller-derby girl or hipster in a fight club.
